Our First Grade world is a place where exploring is fun, challenges are exciting, growth is immeasurable and every day is a new learning opportunity!
Our theme this year is “Can We Build It? Yes, We Can!”. Letters will change from shapes and sounds to words and sentences as we build the foundations of reading and writing. Math and Science will give us the tools to explore the world around us. We will work together to build a community of lifelong learners.
Just a note from Mrs. Russell----
My name is Linda Russell. This is my nineteenth year at Masonic Heights Elementary School. I choose to return to first grade each year because I know this is an important place to develop a love of learning that will carry our students throughout their academic life and beyond.
I grew up in St. Clair Shores and am a proud graduate of Lake Shore Schools (GO SHORIANS!). Both my BS and Masters' degrees were earned at Oakland University.
As a teacher, I want to do my best for all children, including yours! And, as a parent of four children myself, I know the challenges of raising kids, juggling schedules and finding time to simply enjoy family time. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have a question, a referral for information, or any other matter with which I can assist you.
Looking forward to a great year......
